CeBIT 2017: Economy and Politics Focus on Cybersecurity
Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity gives a positive summary of this year’s CeBIT. “Cybersecurity is the central enabler for Industry 4.0. The enormous interest in our IT security solutions has shown that the immense social importance of IT security is now understood in the economy and in politics”, summarizes Ammar Alkassar, CEO of the IT security specialist. From March 20 to 24 Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity presented their IT security solutions for the progressing digitalization in all sectors at CeBIT. Besides the business community and journalists, high-ranking representatives of Germany’s state and federal politics visited the company’s booth and showed great interest in the solutions.
Hans Georg Maaßen, the President of the Bundesamt fuer Verfassungsschutz, Germany’s domestic security agency, visited the booth of Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity, where Ammar Alkassar showed him the latest developments for protection against cybercrime. Further guests at the company’s booth included Stanislaw Tillich, Minister President of Saxony, Svenja Schulze, State Minister for Innovation, Science and Research and Arne Schönbohm, President of the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI).
At this year’s CeBIT, Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity presented a comprehensive portfolio of proactive IT security for companies and state agencies. Part of the portfolio were the new solutions for endpoint security: The virtualized browser “Browser in the Box” is now also available for remote users with virtualized terminal servers. BizzTrust, the secure Android platform for smartphones and tablets, from now on allows the shared use of a single device by multiple users. There was also great interest in the next-generation firewall “gateprotect Specialized Line” that was especially designed for IT environments that require a high level of protection. The firewall can block even unknown types of attacks. For the first time, Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity presented the security solutions of the recently acquired Web security specialist DenyAll at CeBIT. Their Web Application Firewalls and Web Services Firewalls help protect online portals and web services against attacks. Another Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity premiere at CeBIT 2017 was a new product line for the secure encryption of documents in cloud environments. The solution enables the secure and transparent collaboration of remote teams and groups.
The live hacking shows at the booth proved particularly popular. Certified computer scientist Sebastian Schreiber from SySS GmbH demonstrated how IT networks can be hijacked, passwords hacked and data stolen. On March 21 and 22, visitors could experience another highlight: NSIDE ATTACK LOGIC cooperated with the Fraunhofer IGCV in Augsburg for the demonstration of a robot hack and remotely accessed a lightweight robot for industrial production. The visitors could experience the challenges of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) first hand.
